Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
The Sports Hangover ("we", "us", "our") operates the Sports Hangover iOS app ("the App"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data: if you sign in, we store your email address and an optional display name to attribute your submissions.
- User-generated content: text and audio "takes" you submit to the Hangover Hotline. These are stored in our Supabase database and storage; audio is served from a public URL so playback works in the app.
- Device identifier (local only): we use a local counter on your device to rate-limit guest submissions. This is stored on your device only and not sent to us.
- App usage: we do not run third-party analytics SDKs, do not track you across apps or websites, and do not collect device advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To display your submissions in the app's community feed.
- To contact you about your account if needed.
- To feature submissions on The Sports Hangover podcast (text or audio). By submitting, you grant us the right to use your submission on the show.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't share your data with advertisers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Third-party content
The Scores and News sections aggregate headlines from public RSS feeds (ESPN, TMZ, NY Post, Pro Football Talk, Outkick) and the Sports Hangover podcast RSS. Tapping a headline opens the original source in Safari; those sites have their own privacy policies we do not control.
Your choices
- Delete submissions: email michael.benatar@gmail.com with the text of your submission and we'll remove it.
- Delete your account: email us and we'll delete your account and all associated submissions within 7 days.
- Microphone access: audio recording only happens when you tap Record on the Hotline screen. You can revoke access any time in iOS Settings → Sports Hangover → Microphone.
Children
The App is rated 9+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted content, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app and on this page with an updated date.
